10 Movie Science Experiments That Went Horribly Wrong

By Danielle Shields /

6. Jurassic Park (1993)

What€™s the first thing movie scientists do when they discover dinosaur DNA in a prehistoric mosquito? Merge it with frog DNA of course. And what are the consequences? Yet another genetic engineering disaster. There€™s no doubt that the coolest Safari in the whole world would be one filled with Brachiosaurus€™ and Tyrannosaurus€™, rather than their smaller giraffe and meerkat present-day equivalents. It would be a harmonic equilibrium if humans could life as one beside the pre-historic creatures and that€™s what Jurassic Park was attempting. Instead of looking to the future for experimental advancements, Steven Spielberg€™s franchise was all about sentimentalising the past. The Jurassic Park team discover that their cloned dinosaurs have a bit more bite to them than the average pet dog. And so it€™s pretty ironic when a team sets off on the mission to certify that the DINOSAUR Park is safe. You don€™t have to be a scientist to envision what the outcome is going to be.
