3. Flash Gordon
The Scene
After being impaled by Flash Gordon's ship, Emperor Ming attempts to kill Flash only for his ring to betray him. And then, when he aims it at himself, he's vaporised and everyone celebrates victory.
Unfortunately, after the celebrations calm down, someone mysteriously shrouded off-screen picks up the ring while Ming's laugh echoes chillingly. And as a final tease, The End is changed to The End? to really get you excited.
What It Teased
The laugh seemed to suggest Ming wasn't entirely dead and that he'd either be revived by the new ring wielder or replaced by them. Basically, just more evil for Gordon to fight.
But...
The film was terrible - and no amount of nostalgic cult appreciation can change that - and made no profit, so the studio quietly ended any talk of a sequel. It's been rumoured for a reboot for a long time, but so far, nothing's come of it.
