10 Movie Soundtracks That Are Also Great Rock Albums

2. Rock 'N' Roll High School

While the list has been a little heavy on 90s soundtracks, it's nearly impossible not to include Roger Corman's Rock 'N' Roll High School, the 1979 musical comedy that relies heavily on the infamous punk band's music and has them on screen as well. Featuring a band of students getting revenge on their principal through the music of The Ramones, the soundtrack, of course, had the band front and centre.

It also had Brian Eno, Devo, Eddie and the HotRods, and Alice Cooper - lest you think it was primarily a Ramones effort. Far from it, getting a chance to listen to Alice Cooper's School's Out alongside a bunch of Ramones tracks (including the Paley Brothers and The Ramones covering Richie Valen's Come On Lets Go) makes this album a must have. Heck, the Coop and the Ramones period make it a must have.

School's out forever - but it's not a bad idea to revisit this album now and then.
