10 More Movie Speeches That Dominated The Film

1. Integrity - Scent Of A Woman

After taking a job as a caretaker to a surly, blind retired Army officer Frank Slade (Al Pacino), prep school student Charlie Simms (Chris O'Donnell) accompanies Slade on a luxurious trip to New York City. During the trip, Charlie tells Slade about a moral dilemma he is facing. Before leaving for New York, Charlie was a witness to a prank pulled by several classmates on the school's headmaster. Aware of this, the headmaster offers to write Charlie an ironclad letter of recommendation to Harvard if Charlie 'fesses up in a hearing before the whole student body. Charlie refuses to name the perpetrators, and when it looks like he is about to face dire consequences, Slade speaks up in a profanity-filled, but sincere speech about integrity. The lesson of Slade's words is that an authority figure bribing a young man to rat out his friends does nothing but set the young man on a path of dishonesty for the rest of his life. However, it is impossible for a single sentence to convey the flair that Pacino brings to the Oscar-winning delivery of his lines. Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
