9. Asa Butterfield Is Almost Definitely Going To Be The New Spider-Man
Last week, comic book fans reacted to a list of potential Spider-Man actors for the character's upcoming integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe; there were 5 names doing the rounds, though it now it looks like Asa Butterfield - you'll know him from Hugo and Ender's Game - is the frontrunner for the insanely huge part. It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but it appears - going by the frequency of the reports (some of which are stating that he's signed up) - to be set in stone. Marvel are looking to restore Spider-Man to his origins, of course, so they're intent on casting a teenager to play Peter Parker - instead of, you know, a 30-year-old man pretending to be a high school student. Which is a somewhat refreshing approach to the source material, at least, and will presumably prevent Marvel fans from feeling like they've "seen it all before."
