10 Movie Villains Who Will Kick Ass In 2018

10. Ocean Master (Aquaman)

Played by Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring, Insidious), all signs point to Ocean Master being the single best villain the DC Extended Universe has given us thus far.

The DCEU's antagonists usually feel lacklustre because, more often than not, they're big, bland, CGI messes, with no personality and weak connections to the heroes they're fighting (Steppenwolf, Doomsday, Enchantress, etc).

Fortunately, the upcoming Aquaman movie looks to cure this problem by delivering a properly-developed villain who isn't just a big ball of computer-generated fists, and who actually has a key role to play in the story.

Ocean Master is Aquaman's half-brother so he has a personal connection to the hero, which will up the intensity of their confrontations. Plus, director James Wan has always favoured practical effects, so it's hard to imagine he won't try the same here.

This aside, just observing Ocean Master's comic-book power list shows what a badass he can be. He has a trident that can control lightning, possesses great raw strength, and has a crown that can influence water, allowing to manipulate tsunamis, cyclones, and the like. Very nice.

Aquaman has been in development for ages so Wan has had plenty of time to refine his primary antagonist, and we'll find out if he was successful in around 11 months.
