I've tried to defend this film so many times to deaf ears that I've basically given up trying to champion it. Not Another Teen Movie was released as one of the first films in the spoof movie phase, and has sadly been lumped in with the likes of Epic Movie despite being a good deal more intelligent. A hilarious send-up of teen movie cliches that's far smarter than people give it credit for, I am a huge fan of this film, and without a scrap of irony, I will gladly watch it whenever it's on TV. Try and explain its merits as a satire to most, though, and as I've discovered to my embarrassment, they don't have much time for it. Hence I tend to enjoy it on my own silently, and never speak of how much I love this ridiculously under-appreciated comic gem. Ignore the title and just give it a go; you (probably) won't regret it.
