10 Movies Everyone Is Embarrassed To Admit They Like

5. Howard the Duck

In terms of cataclysmic failures, though, nothing is quite as brilliantly bad as the George Lucas-produced Howard the Duck. Every bad thing said against it is why I have to watch it when it very rarely shows on TV; the terrible make-up effects and the risible performances (even an actor as talented as Tim Robbins doesn't get out alive) are undeniable, though I disagree with critics who have dismissed it as boring. Every time Howard is on screen, I am unable to take my eyes off the unspeakably stilted puppetry (Howard is expressionless and hilariously creepy as a result), while the massive lurches in tone give the whole thing a very bizarre feel, like it's inappropriate for both kids and adults. All this considered, I love it, and a youthful crush on star Lea Thompson (that, to be honest, still exists now) certainly doesn't hamper my enjoyment either.
