10 Movies From The 90s That Should Be Remade

By Cameron Carpenter /

1. L.A. Confidential

Before all hell breaks loose, allow me to say this: the original L.A. Confidential is one of my favorite films of all time and I most certainly wouldn't want it put in the hands of anyone other than Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). It's a wonderfully crafted film; it's tense, sensationally shot, with maliciously interesting and layered characters, all of which are wrapping around each other on different paths that lead them all to the same dead end. Trust me when I say that I am one of the many who would be quick to boycott this remake. And while I don't think it can necessarily be made better, I do think it can be more polished, which is something Alfredson does with flair, without compromising any other element to his filmmaking. As for the cast, I don't see how you could go wrong with Robert Downey Jr. (Vincennes), Tom Hardy (Bud), Lee Pace (Exley), Bryan Cranston (Smith), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Sid), Rachel McAdams (Lynn)and John Slattery (Patchett).
