We knew that the guys in The Mummy were messing around with some bad mojo as soon as Gad Hassan started plucking scarab skeletons off the wall of the tomb. Apparently, the scarabs were less dead than we would have hoped, because they immediately broke out of their shells and began to embed themselves into Hassan's skin, crawling around under the surface and eating his flesh. And just like that, a hundred thousand nightmares were born. Realistically, there is no way that you could ever experience the type of death that befalls Gad Hassan in The Mummy. Scarabs might be kind of creepy looking, but they don't exactly have a taste for human flesh. In fact, they prefer dung. Regardless, the image of those scarabs rooting around in that guy's body isn't going anywhere, and there's a reason why most of us crossed Tomb Raider off of our list of prospective careers. It's the scarabs.
