The Stallone-starring remake of 1970s classic Michael Caine-starring thriller Get Carter really didn't have a chance right out of the gate, given that they were remaking a much-loved film that simply didn't need to be remade. In this take, Stallone plays Jack Carter, an enforcer at a mob casino who is planning to get revenge for the brutal murder of his brother. The film abounded during Stallone's lowest career point, at the turn of the new millennium when only the same, trite, boring action thrillers were coming his way. Though the film features a cursory cameo from Michael Caine - a bizarre, apparent stamp of approval from the actor, who can't have possibly read the script before signing on - this Get Carter is inferior to the original in every way, with a totally forgettable plot and completely soporific lead performance from Stallone, who acts like he's got his mind on more pressing things. He received another Razzie nomination for Worst Actor as a result.
