3. God Particle ("Cloverfield 3")

Three months out from release, and we still know virtually nothing about Julius Onah's God Particle. We're not even sure if that's still the title. That's an impressive level of secrecy for a movie that finished shooting in September 2016, then had its release date pushed back from February 2017 all the way to this coming April, even if it does come from the hush-hush Bad Robot.

The fact that it is a Bad Robot production is what makes the mystery more exciting. Never one to release many details about their projects until they hit theaters, the studio have a phenomenal box office track record and with God Particle being the third instalment in the loosely-connected Cloverfield franchise, anticipation is even higher.

Both Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield lane held very well during their theatrical runs, with both earning at least six times their budget back. At a cost of just $10m and boasting a fantastic international cast that includes David Oyelowo, Daniel Bruhl, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Zhang Ziyi, God Particle could be an low-key early year hit before blockbuster season really kicks into high gear.
