9. The Bone Collector Revealed The Killer's Identity In Trailers
The Ending
The serial killer is revealed to be Richard Thompson (Leland Orser), a medical technician pal of quadriplegic forensics expert Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington), who plotted to kill Rhyme in revenge for ruining his career and sending him to jail for framing innocent people.
Thankfully, Rhyme's life is saved by a well-timed bullet from cop Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie).
How It Was Spoiled
This is a really interesting one. The movie's main trailer features an ultra-spoilery line of dialogue where an unseen character says, "I gave you so many clues, and you failed!"
Now, if you're well-versed in character actors, you'll probably know that the voice belongs to Leland Orser, whose distinctive vocal register is pretty tough not to notice.
As such, when Orser shows up in the first 10 minutes of the movie, it's hilariously obvious that he's going to be revealed as the killer, and knowing viewers have to wait almost another two hours for the film to actually reveal it in earnest. Yawn.
