This movie was released at an unfortunate time in cinematic history. Its premiere was overshadowed by the release of Slumdog Millionaire and Quantum of Solace a few days later, not to mention the mega-hit Twilight being released a mere two weeks later. It was popular among fans of the genre, but paled in comparison to other hits that were marketed better. However, I loved this movie and Im pretty sure that anyone else who saw it loved it too. Who could look passed the cursing children and McGlovins stellar performance? The Prequel: Go back a ways and youll see that this could be one of the funniest movies ever. Imagine, Ronnie and Augie going through Big Brother after Big Brother, never being able to find a match within the volunteers at the center. Full of crass comments and slapstick comedy, the two youngsters would proudly and successfully lead this prequel to a happy conclusion. Lets not forget the opportunity for Jane Lynchs character to delve deeper into her history with drug abuse - perhaps several drug and sex filled flashbacks of a strung out, fast talking Jane Lynch? If well written, it would be a smart and acceptable precursor to the hilarious original.
