10. Planet of the Dead

When Zack Snyder's zombie heist film Army of the Dead was released in 2021, it was announced to be part of a wider cinematic universe for Netflix, with a spin-off prequel having already been shot and both a direct sequel and an animated series being in active development

Though the prequel, Army of Thieves, was released mere months after Army of the Dead, word quickly went quiet on the proposed sequel, Planet of the Dead, while Snyder forged ahead with his Rebel Moon duology for the streamer.

The Wrap recently reported that Netflix had "quietly cancelled" both Planet of the Dead and the animated series, though didn't elaborate on the reason why.

On one hand, Army of the Dead was a sizable ratings hit for Netflix, being watched in an impressive 75 million households in its first month, but it's possible that the largely negative response to Snyder's Rebel Moon films left the streaming service questioning the viability of more Army of the Dead content.

As for Snyder, he's apparently now working on a small movie without much in the way of lavish VFX.
