10 Movies That Should Have Been Included in the National Film Registry By Now

3. My Fair Lady

One of the finest musicals ever put to film, this adaptation of the Lerner and Loewe Broadway show won eight Academy Awards. It€™s impossible to watch it and not come away humming the tune to songs like The Rain in Spain, I Could Have Danced All Night, On the Street Where You Live, Get Me to the Church on Time and I€™ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face. Rex Harrison plays the best role of his life in the form of the narcissistic taskmaster Henry Higgins. Audrey Hepburn was dubbed by a professional singer but she is both sexy and elegant as the spunky Cockney girl Eliza Doolittle. A remake may be in the works but it€™ll be difficult if not impossible to recapture the special something that makes this a classic.
