10. John Dies At The End

Quick spoiler warning - John does die in this film. That's not how this title is inaccurate or misleading.

In fact, in the original episodic novel, John potentially dies at the end of most chapters, with it being revealed he was knocked out or otherwise okay at the start of the next episode when it was later released. This allowed the author to stop writing whenever he wanted, with the title making it clear what had happened to his characters.

In the film of the same title, John doesn't die at the end. Thanks to the non-linear nature of the tale, he actually dies somewhere in the middle of the film, while being questioned at a police station. He then goes on through the rest of the story.

It's a very strange film.
