10 Movies That Tried To Make The Internet Scary

7. The Lawnmower Man

It takes a lot for Stephen King to bring a lawsuit against you. The author is known as being so wealthy, he'll sell the rights to any of his work on a dollar and a handshake, thus leading to a good 300 crappy colleger student films. But he took exception with The Lawnmower Man.

In the short story, a guy eats grass with and murders the tenant of a home because hs worships his boss - Pan.

The film is about scientist Pierce Brosnan making mentally-disabled Jeff Fahey smarter using virtual reality. There is literally no connection beyond the fact that Fahey kills a guy with a Lawnmower.

So King did indeed sue and won, though on VHS, they replaced his name in the credits, causing him to sue again.
