10 Movies That WASTED Villains From Their Source Material
2. Deadpool - X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Deadpool has long been a beloved anti-hero to comic book fans across the globe, and when Ryan Reynolds first appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it seemed as though the character may just be the saving grace of the X-Men franchise.
In a blunder so big that we can only hope someone lost their job, the decision was made to sew Deadpool's mouth shut, putting a swift end to his wisecracks, and to any possible use of the nickname "the Merc with a Mouth".
On top of making the character visually unrecognisable, he was given a combination of a number of mutants powers, and the addition of sword-like blades protruding from his knuckles, as well as being remotely controlled by William Stryker.
No doubt the most confusing creative choice on this list, it sparked mass outrage among fans, and has since become something of a bitter joke.
While we have since seen Reynolds do the character justice, it will forever remain a truly bizarre cinematic decision that will likely never make any sense whatsoever.
