10 New Details You Need To Know About James Gunn's The Suicide Squad

10. Harley Quinn Will Rock Another Comic Accurate Appearance

Aside from some backlash over those skimpy shorts, fans were mostly happy with Harley Quinn's appearance in Suicide Squad. The tattoos certainly took some getting used to, of course, but it was an effective enough look for a reimagined version of the character in Warner Bros.' dark and gritty DC Extended Universe.

Now, after sporting some very unique costumes in Birds of Prey, it appears Gunn is looking to the comic books for inspiration. Recent set photos have shown Harley wearing a bright red dress (likely to go undercover alongside Task Force X rather than her permanent outfit), but what's most noteworthy about those is the fact she has red and black hair!

That's clearly something the filmmaker has lifted from Harley's recent adventures, and a good way to further emphasise that she's moved on from her time with the Clown Prince of Crime now she's ditched the classic red and blue. Interestingly, rather than wielding her bat or mallet, Harley instead has what looks like a giant spear or Bō.
