10 Niggling Worries Over Marvel's Next 10 Movies
10. Will Robert Downey Jr. Steal The Limelight? - Spider-Man: Homecoming
At first, the idea of having Tony Stark as an integral part of upcoming film Spider-Man: Homecoming seemed like a great idea. Going by what the studio have allowed us to glimpse thus far, Stark will be continue his role as a kind of mentor character for Peter Parker, which seems like a natural progression.
But Spider-Man: Homecoming is a Spider-Man movie, and given that it's the first solo Spider-Man movie in the MCU canon, it really needs to feel like one. The most recent trailer showcased a film that appears to be heavily reliant on the growing dynamic between Peter and Tony, with the latter's inclusion feeling like the result of studio worries.
Were Marvel fearful audiences wouldn't flock to another Spider-Man movie unless they threw an Avenger into the mix to spice things up?
Robert Downey Jr. is a huge screen presence, though, and worried fans are right to be concerned that his involvement here could steal the attention away from Tom Holland. Here's hoping the trailer isn't all that representative of the final product and that it actually overplayed the actor's total screen-time.
