10 Old-School Movie Action Heroes Who Need Rebooting

By Jack Pooley /

8. Casey Ryback (Under Siege)

Why He Needs Rebooting: The premise of a former NAVY Seal-turned-cook who has to get his hands dirty when terrorists get up in his grill (pun intended) is simply too good to use on a mere two films. Plus, going by star Steven Seagal's doughy physique and the straight-to-video placement of most of his movies these days, there sure isn't a third Under Siege film coming anytime soon, Who Would Play Him: You can pretty much take your pick. His character didn't fit a particular "type", so this one could cast a pretty wide net, but the first actor I thought of was Liam Neeson, and I think his name and Under Siege fit together pretty well. He's proven how tough he can be in the Taken movies, but at the same time he has a certain down-to-Earth charm that would make him believable as a lowly cook who knows how to do more than chopping with a pair of knives.
