10 Original Movies To Keep On Your Radar For The Rest Of 2017

10. Wheelman

The first of many Netflix Originals on this list, Wheelman (which has nothing to do with the video game series of the same name) follows a getaway driver (played by Frank Grillo) who gets caught up in a bank robbery gone wrong.

He's been betrayed, you see, and with his family at risk and a car full of cash at his disposal, he must move fast in order to discover how the hell he ended up in this situation.

There are two reasons why Wheelman is standing out amidst a crowded autumn/winter movie season. Firstly, it's something markedly different within Netflix's own line of original films. The streaming platform hasn't really experimented with an action-thriller before, making Wheelman an expansion of their already-broad creative capabilities.

And secondly, with Frank Grillo leading the charge, Wheelman is touting an action star that can convincingly pull off the stunts, fights and chases, but can also bring a heart and believability to his characters.

He showed this in the latter two Purge movies and has also excelled in smaller dramatic roles in movies like Warrior, so hopefully he can imbue this potentially one-note getaway driver with likeability and soul.
