10 Overlooked Positives of Sylvester Stallone's Judge Dredd

10. Sylvester Stallone's Chin

Whatever else you might think of Sly's casting as Judge Joseph Dredd, he at least looks the part. Lending the judge the imposing physique of Rocky and Rambo, Stallone cuts a mean figure as the number one Lawman of the Future. Not least, that impressive chin. Jutting out from beneath the (very well-designed) helmet like a sheer cliff, Stallone's is a jawline that looks as though it could take a pounding from Mean Machine Angel on No.4 (which it does) and leave the famously crazed buttist dazed as a result. Many would have preferred Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford in their prime, but the voice isn't bad either. On paper (and occasionally even in action) Stallone's Dredd sounds like a fine choice. Physically enormous, at least 20% chin and capable of giving great scowl, there's nothing to suggest Sylvester Stallone couldn't have done a fine job with the character, had the material been right. Sadly, it was not.
