3. Aunt May – Rachel McAdams

Sally Fields did a brilliant job as Aunt May, and her deep rooted connection with Andrew Garfield’s Peter was one of the crowning jewels of the Amazing series. They set the bar pretty high with Peter and Aunt May’s bond and a strong talent will need to be hired to replicate it – thus Marvel and Sony should look no further than Rachel McAdams.

It may be the consensus for Aunt May to be old and frail (Let’s remember she’s Peter’s aunt, not grandmother), but sometimes change is good and it would certainly offer the fans a different dynamic between the two.

Rachel McAdams is a tremendously talented actress who has a history of being able to play on audiences’ heart strings, a quality Marvel will no doubt be looking for in their next Aunt May. Given the chance, McAdams could definitely do something different with the character – possibly taking inspiration from her Ultimate incarnation (who would happily take a shot or two at anyone who dare lay a hand on Peter), and it wouldn’t exactly be the most challenging of tasks to make Rachel McAdams look a year or two older.
