10 Places Every Star Wars Fan Should Visit On Holiday

By Kiri Rix /

Some Star Wars fans are lucky enough to plan travel itineraries completely devoted to visiting Star Wars sites. They will trek to every filming location in Death Valley in costume to reenact scenes from A New Hope, then hop in the car, and drive straight to San Francisco to see if they will have a chance encounter with the maker himself: George Lucas. Other fans, though still just as devoted, will go on a vacation but look up places related to Star Wars that they can visit while they are already out there. Taking away all hindrances such as money, and, well, money, where would you go as a Star Wars fan? Would you plan a complete trip dedicated only to Star Wars filming locations? Or would you find a balance and spend an afternoon visiting a Star Wars site, while in the area for something completely different? The following rankings were based on a level of interest for a Star Wars fan. The more you love Star Wars, the more likely you are to seek out these top three locations based on your curiosity for either how the movie was made or its significance within Star Wars history. The only places not on this list are George Lucas' home...because we don't encourage stalkers, and Skywalker Ranch...because you need insider connections in order to get in. Skywalker Ranch is a working facility under heavy surveillance and rumor has it that even President Reagan was turned down from a tour. With that said, these upcoming ten locations are for every type of fan.
