Drew Goddard may have written Cloverfield, but Matt Reeves directed it, so he had just as much if not more of a hand in its success. For all of the same reasons as Goddard, Reeves would be great for Jurassic Park, proving himself as a guy capable of large scale monster action and small scale character moments. He also recently directed Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, a highlight of the fifty year old series. With this movie, Reeves tackled a massive franchise that had been dormant for years, but had recently rebooted into a respectable form. Doesn't that description perfectly describe the situation with Jurassic Park 5? Reeves has proven that he's capable of handling a big franchise, and with Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes he delivered one of the most satisfying entries yet. That's also a movie that pits humans against non-human foes that are largely CGI. If Reeves could bring the same sense of adventure and emotion to Jurassic Park 5, the series would be in pretty great hands.
