10 Potentially Awesome Movies Released In May 2015

With Avengers: Age Of Ultron finally in cinemas across the globe it's tempting to believe that - Star Wars aside this December - the best of the year's blockbusters has already been released. For one thing there's considerably less enthusiasm for the likes of Jurassic World and the long list of sequels and remakes on the horizon. Of course, there's more to cinema than the huge tent pole releases to get excited about and the release schedule for this May features a diverse range of films well worth putting in your diary. While the imminent arrival of the Poltergeist remake might reasonably lead to a few groans (Sam Rockwell is a wonderful and underrated actor but has he been miscast?), and Jason Statham action vehicle Spy hardly sounds like a formula for an imaginative and original movie, more daring releases are heading our way, both from inside the Hollywood stable and beyond. Another adaptation of a classic British novel from former Dogme-95 co-founder Thomas Vinterberg consolidates the Danish filmmakers continuing shift away from his austere beginnings, while Brad Bird's mysterious Tomorrowland sits at the blockbuster budget end of the spectrum and could prove to be a huge hit for Disney. Let's take a look at some potentially awesome movies heading your way this month.
