10. Rebooting Suicide Squad Is Idiotic

Warner Bros.

While the addition of James Gunn to the DCEU with The Suicide Squad is a great move, the confirmation that he's overseeing a reboot rather than a sequel is a mistake. Sure, there will be a lot of fans who are enthusiastic about the prospect of that movie being wiped out of existence, but it ruins Warner Bros' narrative.

When the divisive original was released, Warners leveraged the idea that it was a film made for fans and not critics into an inflated box office return. It absolutely had its fans and crucially there's also a direct spin-off coming and for the studio to now concede that it requires a reboot is a slap in the face for anyone who went to battle for it. That's not how you reward a loyal fanbase.
