10 (Realistic) Directors Who Should Direct A Star Wars Spin-Off Film

10. Duncan Jones

Duncan Jones is a hugely accomplished science-fiction film director with both Moon and Source Code impressing critics and general movie-goers alike. And although Warcraft was mauled by most critics it was (eventually) a financial success, for which Jones must feel indebted to Chinese film fans.

Jones is clearly a talented filmmaker with a big imagination, and he definitely isn't short of ambition, encapsulated by the fact that a Warcraft adaptation was always going to be a massive risk. Like most people Jones is a fan of the franchise, so it would be hard to imagine him passing up the chance to direct a spin-off film. Hopefully he'll introduce a primitive droid character voiced by Kevin Spacey.

However, Jones is busy next with his hotly anticipated science-fiction thriller Mute, and after that he could still yet sign onto a Warcraft sequel if it were to be green lit off the back of its Chinese success.

Disney would likely have reservations after Warcraft's poor box office performance in the US, and they probably wouldn't be too impressed with his jokey yet hilariously passive-aggressive Twitter argument with Rian Johnson, which if you haven't read already you need to do so immediately.
