This one usually comes from the lovelorn Superman fans that have waited for a Nolan movie-style treatment (who now argue they may or may not have got one in Man of Steel this summer), but it also comes from the perhaps overconfident studio heads themselves. If a video game/movie/TV show comes out with a Bat-emblem, it will sell. That doesn't seem to be the case with Cartoon Network's Beware the Batman, which just recently took an unexplained hiatus from its regular schedule. Perhaps it is the CG animation (the same used for Green Lantern: The Animated Series which was cancelled after one season), the unfamiliar sidekicks or the lack of A-List Bat-villains, Beware has receded to the Batcave for now and Cartoon Network has yet to announce its return. And it has to be mentioned that not all ventures into video games were as successful as the current Arkham game franchise; the adaptations of Batman & Robin, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and the comic book-inspired Batman: Dark Tomorrow video games may not have been as negatively received as Superman 64, but they are just as easily forgettable.
