One of the most landmark stories in Marvel history was Iron Mans Demon In A Bottle story arc, which dealt with a superhero and his battle with alcoholism. The real finale to that story wouldnt come until some 20 years later when Tony Stark was able to come to Carol Danvers aid as she struggled with the same issue. It was a beautiful story that reaffirmed Tonys human qualities and helped connect Danvers to her new fan base. The Iron Man filmmakers decided to indirectly address Tonys emotional crisis which has shown to be not a bad decision at the very least so that still leaves an important story and subject out there to be picked up. If Carol, a beautiful woman who seems to have it all from our perspective struggles with such an affliction, it would go a long way in terms of endearing her to an audience hoping they wont be seeing a 2 hour film full of glass ceiling one-liners.
