Miles Morales was 13 years old when he was introduced, and is still only 14. It's frustrating enough that Marvel and Sony are apparently once again planning to focus on Spider-Man in high school, but does anyone really want these new movies to revolve around a kid this young? They could of course make him a little older, but a big part of the character is the fact that he's so young and inexperienced. Even more so than Peter ever was. That creates another problem in regards to how difficult it is to find actors of this age who can actually hold their own on the big screen (bear in mind that they will be sharing the screen with actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans). Sure, they can find someone of 18+ who looks more youthful, but it just feels somewhat unnecessary to overcomplicate matters by going with a youngster like Miles and will make this feel like a kids move.
