10 Reasons Shazam Needs To Be In Justice League 2

10. Shazam Can See Threats The League Can't

Shazam! doesn't actually show one of the most unique powers possessed by both Billy Batson and the villainous Doctor Sivana. The magical glowing eye that Sivana uses to summon the Seven Deadly Sins in the film was used by the New 52 incarnation of Sivana to see hidden magic.

Shazam has a similar ability, in that the Wisdom of Solomon makes it possible for him to see through illusions. Magical attempts to hide a threat from the human eye would therefore not work against him.

It's possible that this was changed in the DCEU, since all magic in Shazam! appears visible to humans. For instance, there are comics in which Shazam is the only one who can see the Seven Sins, yet the film versions of these entities appear visible to everyone they encounter. The symbols that warn of an imminent teleportation to the Rock of Eternity initially seem meant for the beholder's eyes alone, yet a later scene demonstrates that they can actually be recorded on video.

Nonetheless, the lack of hidden magic in one film doesn't mean that it doesn't exist in the DCEU, or that Shazam doesn't still have the power to see through it. Billy's still learning, both about magic and about himself. This unexplored power could give him a unique place in the Justice League and, depending on the nature of the next threat they face, make him absolutely vital to their success.
