If its a Disney movie, you can bet its going to have a happy ending. Whether that means finding the right prince or returning home, things will always work out for the hero and the villain will get their comeuppance. Its a familiar formula but it makes people happy and that's why Disney keeps going back to it. The Emperors New Groove is no exception to this formula, it sports a happy ending. But its idea of what constitutes that happiness is so over-the-top that its emblematic of why the film as a whole succeeds. On the heroes side of things, Kuzco spares Pachas village and chooses not to build Kuzcotopia, his proposed summer house. For Yzma, she remains a cat, and has reluctantly joined Kronks Junior Squirrel Scouts. Yup, this films idea of a typical Disney conclusion features the villain stuck as a cat in a child's scout troop and the hero showing his heart by choosing to not build a waterpark. You dont see that if too many Disney films.
