10. The Future Of TV And Film

Aren't streaming services the future anyway?

With services such as Netflix and Youtube, we are becoming accustom to watching content through all sorts of screens, not just the conventional cinema and TV.

The rise of streaming services, along with the rise of original programming, makes for a new wave of entertainment. Take for example Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before. An amazing and touching film which could have done well in cinemas. However, Netflix chose to broadcast it without the involvement of cinemas and it is not the first original we have seen do this.

Each platform seems to be producing their own original content in a bid to gain viewers - so will there be a need for cinema in the future, or will all viewership be done from the comfort of our own beds?

Not to mention the cinema-flops. These are the movies which really should not have been released into cinema. Take for example Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. A cinema trip is fun, but we weren't going to drag ourselves into the cold for a - dare I say it - mediocre Disney film. Some movies are better left as streaming service fillers than pieces of shoe-horned cinema.
