10 Reasons Why Looper is Best Film of 2012

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

I first became aware of JGL€™s potential for greatness while watching Brick, Rian Johnson€™s first feature film, although I had seen him before most notably in 3rd Rock From the Sun. He€™s a phenomenal young performer that only seems to get better with age; undoubtedly why we€™re seeing him crop up all over mainstream Hollywood over the last four or five years. Despite initially feeling that Levitt€™s face altering prosthetic make-up was distracting, coupled with his superb performance, it wasn€™t long before it left my mind entirely. Levitt is a young Bruce Willis, not just in look but in voice, in mannerism, even in the eyes. A lesser performer could have easily bungled this undeniably difficult role but thanks to some characteristically stellar work from JGL, Looper was never in anything but safe hands.
