Ive talked about Loopers complexity a few times already in this piece, but please dont mistake complex for complicated. In fact, Looper is anything but complicated. The core premise is explained perfectly within literally the first couple of minutes; minor details are added through voice-over throughout the opening act and by the time act 2 kicks in, youre fully up to speed. Looper is complex at the thematic and sub-textual level, but its actual plot is as straightforward and easy to understand as anything else on the mainstream market, which is another reason I cant actually believe its never been done before. Make no mistake, even the least interested sci-fi skeptic could wrap their head around Looper; wrapping your soul around it, now thats a different story all together. Whether you want to study its story or simply enjoy its plot, Looper is totally worth every penny of its ticket price.
