Once again, Jaa encounters some one-dimensional villains who’ve been poaching elephants, which eventually leads to a martial arts showdown with RZA, who’s so evil he attaches a bomb to an elephant in one scene. This sits none too well with our hero who along with a sidekick decides to wipe out the supporting cast in a series of effects-heavy action sequences.

In fact, the unconvincing CGI was the biggest bone of contention among critics, with New York Magazine calling the movie “slipshod and tiresome” while The Hollywood Reporter called it “another deep disappointment.” The New York Times claimed the picture was “not one for fight film purists." If you can put that kind of action movie snobbery aside, there’s plenty of fun to be had and the astonishingly athletic Jaa is never less than watchable.
