5. Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is the third entry into the The Twisted Childhood Universe - aka The Poohniverse - following on from the first two Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey movies.

That is to say, it's seemingly another cynical attempt to cash-in on a classic story entering the public domain, reworking it as a grisly slasher flick for some easy cash.

But you know what? It ain't half bad.

Now, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare certainly isn't a great film, but it is clear that the filmmakers were actually trying to do something interesting here with their R-rated, gore-soaked reinvention of Peter Pan.

It's a relatively good-looking movie considering its mere £300,000 budget, offers some genuinely amusing and clever revisions of Peter Pan lore, and Martin Portlock gives a menacing, Joker-esque performance as this murderous iteration of Peter Pan.

It's not high-art and it isn't trying to be, but for something that could so easily be dismissed as a craven cash-grab, it's clear that those in charge actually put some effort in.
