10 Recent Movies That Avoided Obvious Mistakes

10. Going PG-13 - Deadpool & Wolverine

The moment that Fox was acquired by Disney, many Marvel fans understandably questioned what would become of Deadpool - namely, would he be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in infuriatingly neutered fashion by being stuck with a PG-13 rating?

Even when Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, and company promised that this wouldn't be the case, there was still the fair concern that both would ultimately be overruled by a Disney higher-up, and that Deadpool's first cinematic foray under the MCU banner would short-sightedly ditch the R rating altogether.

Thankfully, though, that wasn't the case at all, with recent Deadpool threequel Deadpool & Wolverine being the very first R-rated entry into the ongoing wider superhero franchise. More to the point, the film showed no sign of compromise, fusing Deadpool's usual brand of ribald, button-pushing humour with gleefully meta gags about Disney, Kevin Feige, and even the very state of the MCU itself.

Given that the movie ended up grossing a stonking $1.338 billion worldwide, it should embolden Disney to develop more adult-skewing Marvel projects in the future.
