10 Recent Post-Credits Movie Scenes That Went Nowhere

You're really waste that, huh?

Contrary to popular believe, post-credits scenes overall are nothing new. The majority of of Jackie Chan's films conclude with a blooper reel. Classics like Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Airplane! finish with a silly gag.

But in recent years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has popularised a very different sort of after-credit sequence - the stinger.

When Nick Fury showed up at the end of Iron Man to discuss The Avengers, fans were ecstatic about the prospect of seeing Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble. Because this 30-second scene generated so much buzz, it wasn't long before every studio jumped on the bandwagon.

Before you knew it, movies were coming with one, two, or three scenes after the credits rolled.

Although these bonus scenes are implying more is on the way, it's not always a guarantee. If the movie tanks or receives a lot of flack, potential sequels can be scrapped.

When this happens, anything shown in the post-credits may never materialise.

Sometimes - like Transformers, Power Rangers and X-Men including various stingers teasing future instalments - it just wasn't meant to be.

10. Charlie's Angels

The 1976 tv series, Charlie's Angels, follows a detective agency which recruits three beautiful women to perform dangerous missions. The show was campy as hell but was such a huge hit, it was inevitable Hollywood would adapt the property to the big screen.

Even though the first film series concluded in 2003, director and actress, Elizabeth Banks, thought it was high time the bad-ass bombshells made a comeback, inspiring her to film and star in a Charlie's Angels reboot in 2019.

Sadly, it didn't win over critics or the box-office, giving the film zero chance of a follow-up. It's a pity the franchise didn't take off since Charlies' Angels went full out with its post-credit scenes. We had cameos galore from Laverne Cox, Ronda Rousey, Hailee Steinfield, Lili Reinhart, Danica Patrick, and Olympians, Aly Raisman and Chloe Kim.

Not only does the stinger include some awesome martial arts scenes and a hilarious skydiving sequence, Elena receives an Angels tattoo, proving she has officially been welcomed into Charlie's agency. But because the film underperformed, we won't get a chance to see this incarnation of the Angels again.
