Although regarded as a cult classic these days, Krull really hasn't held up well. The movie was a box office failure upon release, and when viewed now it is a big block of 1980s cheese, loaded with nostalgia value and small roles for actors that would go on to bigger and better things. Yes Liam Neeson, that's you... What Krull does have going for it, which is a little surprising given the generally light-hearted and derivative nature of the movie, is its signature weapon. Essentially a five-pointed razor sharp boomerang (honestly, its better than it sounds), Ken Marshall's Colwyn retrieves the Glaive from a volcanic lava pool (obviously) in order to rescue a damsel in distress. Naff movie, cool weapon.
