Pointless Because: She had minimal involvement in The Avengers despite being a name actress thanks to her work on How I Met Your Mother. She fires a few bullets during a few action scenes, but that's it. She also appeared briefly in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot in a totally perfunctory "look at me" role, but the less said about that train wreck the better. How To Fix It: Involve her more in the action scenes, and actually get her to show off some of that S.H.I.E.L.D. skill. Considering Maria Hill is scheduled to appear in both the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, it seems like she just might get her due. Given how dedicated and likable the character seems, they should give her (and Cobie Smulders) a shot at something more.
