http://youtu.be/blpq-Iwu25s Back in 2007, Michael Parkinson announced his retirement from British Television after some 25 years in service. Unlike most interviewers of today and before, Parkinson did not rely on arrogant humour, quick little digs or outshining the star when interviewing his guests, instead opting for a much more humble and down to earth approach. Unfortunately for Parkinson, his memory is often tarnished in the minds of most British viewers by the cold interview given by Meg Ryan in 2003. In Ryan's defence, it does seem as though she was only reacting poorly to Parkinson's unusually underhand (and somewhat hidden) contempt and aggressive line of questioning.
