6. Deadpool Almost Became Canon To The MCU (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2)
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 features a crowd-pleasing moment where all of Stan Lee's cameos are confirmed to be the experiences of one individual, credited as "the Watcher informant".
However, there's more to this scene than actually ended up in the final movie, with James Gunn confirming that he had Lee also shout out a reference to being a DJ, as was his cameo in Deadpool.
This would've been an incredible yet subtle way to acknowledge the possibility of Deadpool's (Ryan Reynolds) existence in the MCU, especially in recent light of Disney acquiring Fox, but either due to Marvel Studios wagging their finger or Gunn simply disliking the take, it ultimately wasn't used.
At least there's all the time in the world for Guardians Vol. 3 to make some sort of similar nod, or Deadpool to invite himself to the party in one of his own movies. Wait and see.
