2. Man Bites Dog

This 1992 Belgian black comedy was a crime mockumentary in which a crew of filmmakers follow a serial killer around and film him, well, killing people for the documentary they're making. And as Ben - the serial killer in question - had no qualms about killing anyone, the team behind the film thought it best to highlight that on the Belgian poster.

The image features the protagonist standing over his target and firing a shot, just as a pacifier flies into view (along with a splatter of blood) - clearly suggesting that he had just killed a baby. Guys, come on.

Understandably, the poster was considered too controversial and was doctored for international audiences, with the pacifier being replaced with dentures instead. Not really sure that's any better, but it certainly caused less offence than the pacifier would have.
