3. Don't Make Anakin Skywalker C-3PO's Creator

There are a number of questionable origin moments in the prequel trilogy, Anakin Skywalker for one. Obi-Wan Kenobi referred to Luke's father as a great pilot, though in reality he was a slightly irritating blond moppet who went "yipee!" But the most ridiculous part of the origin was the reveal that Darth Vader built C-3PO. It was completely unnecessary and it added nothing to either trilogy. George Lucas obviously wanted a "wow, that is really cool" reaction to C-3POs origin. Instead, he had audiences groaning and helped cement the general loathing of much of The Phantom Menace. At least Jar Jar Binks served a purpose by acting as a guide for Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Gungan city, a decision that resulted in the alliance with Queen Amidala's forces against the invading Trade Federation. Anakin making C-3PO had no purpose at all.
