10. Luke Getting A Girlfriend - Heir To The Jedi

Because of the Jedi having that asinine law about not being allowed to get married, you rarely hear about Jedi having love interests, and if they do, it rarely ends well for either party. You would think that Luke, not being aware of this rule at all, what with the other Jedi being dead, would have a bit more luck. Sadly, no such luck for poor Luke.

Set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, Kevin Hearne's Heir To The Jedi saw Luke falling in love with a rebel engineer named Nakari Kalen. Being a farm boy from the middle of the desert, Luke of course knew absolutely nothing about interacting with a really cute girl, making for some adorable interactions.

But of course, if Luke was happily married to a badass rebel engineer, then Rey likely would have found him in much better conditions in The Last Jedi. Luke and Nakari's story ended in tragedy when she was murdered by the main villain of the story.

This detail sits at the bottom of the list because you don't really need this story to understand the movies. Don't expect this to last much longer.
