The innocent man out for revenge thriller is a concept that has certainly been done to death, and it's fair to say that Law Abiding Citizen, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, brings pretty much nothing new to the genre. Still, as subpar as the movie itself is, there's more than enough brutal torture and bloodshed for fans of gruesome action films, not least when Clyde Sheldon (Butler) uses the bone from a T-bone steak as a weapon, stabbing it into his cellmate's neck to ensure his removal to solitary confinement. For a character who is alleged to have worked for the CIA building assassination devices such a method could be considered relatively quaint, which, after the extensive torture and dismemberment scene earlier in the film, is perhaps a fair point.
